Our History and who we are

Legacy Farm Limited is a world class commercial farm that is committed to cultivate organic and non-organic Soybeans and Maize as raw material or finish product for both local and global market. We also produce cassava, maize, plantain, cocoa, pineapples for export and local consumption base on demand. The company has been in operation for the past seven years with the name Joshbern Enterprise under the able leadership of Mr. Joshua Akuffo Addo the C.E.O and founder.

Mr. Joshua Akuffo Addo was inspired to start this company by his late father who was also the Eastern Region Best Farmer in 1984 in Ghana. He would always go to the farm with his father even at a very tender age and watched him provide food for his family and the community. He cultivated a natural love for agriculture and has since then been in the industry. Commercially, he has been a farmer for about 25years cultivating cassava, maize, plantain, cocoa, pineapples and soybean for export and local consumption.

Within these years, the company has established strong ties with the Queen of Melanin who remains a loyal customer for years now trading in our farm produce. We are also in strong business relationship with giant agricultural manufacturing companies here in Ghana and abroad.

After 25years farming experience, Legacy Farms Ltd is inventively focusing on value-addition on Soybean to create a global cooking oil brand “LEGACY Pure Vegetable Oil”.

Legacy Farms Ltd has farm land sizes of about 100,000 acres equivalent to 40,469 hectares in the Ashanti Region, Brong-Ahafo and Afram Plains for the cultivation of soybeans and maize. The company intends to use 20,000 acres to create out growers’ scheme as a means of providing jobs for farmers. It will provide support in terms of seeds, fertilizer, technical assistance and land preparation for the out growers and will buy the produce from the out growers after harvest. The out growers will receive payment less the minimum cost of assistance given to them. Legacy Farm Ltd will operate on the 80,000 acres and intends to create about Ten Thousand (10,000) jobs directly and indirectly for the people of Ghana.

In the near future, Legacy Farm Limited will be based in three locations in the country and will be head quartered at Kumasi, Ghana. Detailed market research and feasibility studies has been undertaken and were able to secure suitable farm lands to start commercial soybeans farm in these three locations.

Plans are in place to aid us launch a standard Soybean processing line, within the first year of production. We will process and package soybeans into soybean meal, soybean oil and soybean hull which will be added to our maize to make poultry feeds up to international standards.

Currently, we have secured the required farming land and most of the farming equipment and machines for production. We have also hired some key employees who are currently undergoing training towards the future goals of the company.

We have to our credit a distinctive five-member Technical Board created with the focus of running a Standard Agribusiness Company.

The Company has also put processes and strategies in place that will help us operate with best practices in soybean and maize farming as well as processing, packaging, distribution and export of our soybean meal, soybean oil and soybean hull.

Legacy Farm Limited is owned and financed by Mr. Joshua Akuffo Addo and supported by some family members. Before starting Legacy farm Limited, Mr. Joshua Akuffo Addo worked with some of the leading commercial farms and agro processing factories in Ghana.
